An artificial substitute for some or all of the natural teeth and adjacent tissues. Dentures are of 3 types

  • Removable Partial Denture
  • Fixed Partial Denture
  • Complete denture

Removable Partial Denture

Removable Partial Dentures(RPD) are for patients who are missing some of their teeth in the oral cavity. RPD is cost effective and cheaper dentures. RPD is advisable when multiple teeth missing in the mouth. RPD must be removed daily and cleaned for maintenance.

Rpd must be cleaned with Denture cleanser tablet/ cream/ powder with a denture brush Daily.

  • Do not use toothpaste since it can be too harsh for cleaning dentures.
  • Brush the denture each day to remove food deposits and plaque. The helps the denture from becoming permanently stained.
  • A denture could lose its proper shape if it is not kept moist. At night, the denture should be placed in soaking solution or water. Your dentist can recommend the proper method for keeping your dentures in good shape.
  • Don’t chew, swallow, or gargle with denture cleansers.
  • Always thoroughly rinse the denture before placing it in your mouth.

Fixed Partial Denture

  • Fixed Partial Denture (FPD) replaces some or few teeth in oral cavity permanently
  • Fixed Partial Denture (FPD) replaces some or few teeth in oral cavity permanently
  • Cleaning can be done like normal tooth brushing
  • Fixed Partial Denture is made up of different materials
  • Depending upon patient the materials are selected
  • Fixed Partial Dentures will be Aesthetic and natural in look

Complete denture

  • Complete Denture is replacement of all missing teeth in oral cavity.
  • complete Denture can be fabricated either fixed or removable depending upon patients
  • Most commonly complete denture will be fabricated as removable one
  • The plate and teeth in the complete denture must be durable even after years
  • Complete denture can be fabricated by simulating your natural looks like tooth color, size, and shape
  • Complete denture should have balanced occlusion
  • complete denture can even make patients look younger and make wrinkles around mouth to fade away.
  • Complete Dentures can be fabricated customized and can correct even some jaw bone disorders
  • Complete denture can be fabricated in series of steps so that it will mimic natural dentition
  • Old complete dentures can be repaired and copy dentures can be done
